The majority of posts here -
especially the art posts which is why I assume most of you are here
- will be public, but you are welcome to add me if you have an overwhelming desire to read my emo posts o' doom or see pictures of my cats. Just comment if you would like to be added, though please be aware that I usually won't friend blank journals. Please note: The majority of fannish content (yep, that primarily means art) is NO LONGER public on LJ. But it *is* public at IJ
. I am accioslash
there as well. I DO NOT AGREE that content posted to Facebook by anyone other than myself (and I don't have a Facebook account) belongs to Facebook. But since that is in their TOS, I have made all fannish content on LJ friends-only. So sorry about that. But you can see everything on my IJ or DW accounts. My apologies for the inconvenience.
Also, if you are looking for my list of Snape/Harry fics that include any or all of Harry's canon children
(James, Albus Severus, or Lily), you can find it here.
If you are looking for my list of Star Trek Mpreg fics
, you can find it here.
If you have any additions to the list, please comment. A link would be wonderful, but just a title and author is fine. ;D

30th September, 2017. 4:50 pm. Careful what you wish for...
There have been times when I thought it would be fun to re-read some of my favorite fics for the first time to see if my thoughts about them changed or remained the same. However, I will say I do not recommend an aneurysm and brain surgery to accomplish it. It works, but the cost is too high, imo. So far I have discovered that my love of Teh Snarry has not decreased by starting my journey into the pairing with a fic other than IYAP. I still wanted to read fic with the boys together and happy. And so far it appears that my favorite fics and authors from the past remain so today.
I suppose some folks might use the opportunity to read multiple pairings to see if their preference for Snarry was drowned out by a newfound appreciation for perhaps Drarry or even Snack or Snupin. It hasn't (not that I tried especially hard).

31st December, 2016. 6:43 pm. To 2017
“2016 was a shite year,” Harry announced as he emerged from the heavily warded Floo into the living room at Spinner's End. He didn't wait for an invitation before pushing books and papers out of the way and sitting down heavily in a worn chair next to Severus.
“Indeed,” Snape agreed. He looked pointedly at Harry's trainers - currently propped on a stack of old Potions Monthly
- raised an eyebrow and added, “Make yourself at home, Potter. Ah, nevermind, I see you already have.”
Harry smiled but didn't move his feet.
They were both silent for a few minutes until Harry asked suddenly, “You mind if I stay at yours tonight?”
Snape didn't seem inclined to answer immediately and instead busied himself refilling his own glass and pouring another for Harry. Harry wasn't certain, but it appeared to be the good stuff.
"I've heard it said,” Snape began, "that whomever you’re with at the start of the New Year, will become the most important person in your life for the year to come.”
The clock on the mantel began to chime the hour. It was midnight. Harry’s gaze was steady as he lifted his glass. "To 2017, then," Harry said at last, and drank.

29th May, 2014. 5:24 pm. Home again, gitty Jig
Although I hadn't been to market. My left side is still mostly paralyzed, but I secured my release anyway. I'll still have therapy at home. I haven't been around since January, so if you made a post you think I should see, drop me a link.

5th January, 2014. 1:25 pm. Snowflake Challenge - Day 5
In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing.
Giving this one a pass. I honestly don't even know where to begin. I have met so many amazing people, read and viewed so many brilliant fanworks in literally dozens of fandoms that I have no way to even narrow down the field. There are people who remember birthdays and holidays, who participate in fests of all types, people who read and comment and rec and share their love of fandom on multiple platforms, people who write and draw and vid, people who keep fandom going. I can't pick just one.

Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've interacted with and friend/follow them.
Done! No idea why this felt so much more intimidating to me than other challenges, but it did.

3rd January, 2014. 12:16 pm. Snowflake Challenge - Day 3
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create.... See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser-known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom who maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.
Hm. I initially planned to tell tl;dr stories about why some very specific Snarry fics are special to me. But I think I can do that anytime. So instead, I am going to go with the spirit of the prompt and rec three things from this season that were special to me. ( Collapse )

2nd January, 2014. 12:37 pm. Snowflake Challenge - Day 2
In your own space, promote three communities, challenges, blogs, pages, Twitters, Tumblrs or platforms and explain why you love them.
1) Forever and always - snape_potter
. I loved this comm before I became one of the mods there because Snape/Harry is my OTP and I love the concept of "one stop shopping." I love the idea that I can go to one place and find so much variety for the one pairing I always read - long fic, drabbles, one-shots and wips, fluffy fic, dark fic, and everything-in-between fic. The comm hosts three fests per year - Snarry-a-Thon, a themed fall fest, and a December holiday exchange as well as challenges when things get too quiet and the occasional discussion and friending meme. But everyone is welcome and encouraged to post or link to all Snape/Harry fic posted anywhere for members to find.
. I am always looking for new recipes and food or cooking blogs. I do one giant baking project a year, but I love to see what everyone else is doing year-round as well as the new "it" ingredient, alterations to old favorites that accommodate special dietary needs, and tips to help pinpoint problems with techniques and equipment.
3) This isn't just one comm, but more a type of comm - fandom-specific kink memes! There is typically one to be found for every fandom, though sometimes you have to do quite a bit of searching to find it. Depending on the fandom, some are more like prompt memes rather than places to leave kinks you would like to see written in fic, but these are spaces where people drop off prompts - usually anonymously - and hope someone might be interested in writing or drawing for it. Good times and a way to practice writing and to challenge yourself. Fills can be long or short and authors often de-anon and repost, though some (like me) never do. Very low stress and a good place to try new things or to write and post things you'd prefer not to under your own account.

1st January, 2014. 12:43 pm. Snowflake Challenge - Day 1
Back A Page
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I've looked at this challenge all three years they've held it, but this year finally decided to go for it. Hmmm. How about something old, something new, and something blue? The "borrowed" is courtesy of JK Rowling. One for fic and one for art.( Collapse )
